Did this on my friend Natalie’s nails. We really liked it.

makeup sponge (for gradient)
Oumaxi acrylic paint – white and black

Well, I did gradients my way, with a paint brush. I had wanted to do my Texas Nails manicure on my nails, but just didn’t for various excuses reasons. I really like them and got a lot of compliments on them today (my first day back in class). Anyway, I did the gradients with a small paint brush and acrylic paint. Didn’t feel like trying to whip out sponges, polish remover, q-tips, having to start over, etc etc.
Items Used:
Color Club – Almost Famous (LOVE this yellow)
Oumaxi Acrylic paint – white, black, red, orange, gold
This was FUN – simple, but fun. I had never done a Skittles manicure or pedicure and when I saw that the next challenge was rainbow, I wanted to try it. I am definitely going to wear this in the summer! I had thought of trying to do some stamping over it but really like the bold colors without anything on them. I had wanted to do a pedicure too because I hadn’t done one in awhile. I also got to use my new polish that I got on eBay – the best yellow EVER!
I suppose I should mention that I am really dreading the gradient challenge… they never seem to go well for me. Oh well, gotta try, try, try.

Well, I have been putting off doing this post because I just am not into yellows. If anyone has a good recommendation for yellows (the brand and name) please comment here. I have four yellows that I just don’t care for: 1. China Glaze – Lemon Fizz ~ very streaky and uneven. 2. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri – Expresso Yellow ~ streaky and uneven. 3. Confetti – They Call Me Mellow Yellow ~ thin, uneven, but cool glitter. 4. OPI – The It Color ~ this is probably the best one out of all of them, but have had to use three coats to get it even and it gets thick. I know I can use a white underneath but it sucks wearing that many layers of polish (my nails are short and it looks really thick to me). I have heard good things about Color Club? SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME YOU HAVE A GOOD YELLOW… I am done buying yellows until someone gives a good recommendation. OK – enough spazzing about yellow.
I LOVE the berry color I have underneath this yellow, it is one of my favorites for fall. I think this manicure looked better in my mind, but I do like the “scalloped” french I did once before >>>here <<< – voila. All in all, I just wasn’t feeling the color “yellow”.

I was inspired to do this manicure from a youtuber I follow, 3TanjaJ3. I used this >>>tutorial<<<, but I didn’t completely follow her design but pulled the major elements from it.
